Kashi Vishwanath Temple darshan

One of the oldest temples in the region, Kashi Vishwanath stands in the town centre with a tall iron trident in its courtyard. Devotees gather morning and evening for aarti, and the calm atmosphere makes it a gentle first stop before the long road to Gangotri. The Shakti Temple stands just opposite, and the narrow lanes around the temple are lined with small shops selling prasad and local items. A visit here fits easily into your halt in the town.
